Professional background

I am an investor, donor and mentor building a portfolio of investments in UK and Filipino start-ups that have clear ESG credentials and aim to address the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). My areas of interest include environmental, social and governance (ESG) investment and risk management, financial inclusion, regulation and compliance, as well as the constantly evolving fintech scene where initiatives address the UN SDGs
With considerable experience in publishing, commissioning, editing, researching and writing highly technical content on banking and finance, I decided to begin my sustainable angel investment journey in early 2024 by seed funding returning migrant workers’ business ideas, providing them with a means to support their families on home turf without having to leave their spouses and children. Remittances from developed countries were therefore substituted with incomes earned from businesses in their home countries. This approach directly addresses UN SDGs 1, 2, 5, 8 and 10.
In previous publishing roles, I have worked with subject-matter experts to translate complex technical information into informative and stimulating content. A collaborative team player, I have built long-term, productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop successful textbooks and learning materials.
I look forward to helping companies transition to a triple bottom line focus – people, planet and not just profit.
